a day in the life of the Davis brothers

Benjamin is a pretty messy eater. Combine that with his crazy long hair that is in desperate need for a cut & this is what you get. Who needs expensive hair gel & wax when you can just run some food through your hair? :-) Luckily, we usually dunk him right into the bath after dinner (props to my amazing hubby for doing the boys' baths every night!).

Drew is proudly showing off the pumpkin he picked out at Mother's Day Out yesterday. He is ever amazing (& sometimes annoying) us with his new abilities! I think I hear, "Mommy, watch!" a million times a day! He usually says it before he even thinks about and ends up doing something silly.

And I wanted to show off our newly recovered dining table chairs... finally! I'm sure many of you remember my nasty white seats? They are now a fun polka dot with a kid-friendly, vinyl cover! Yea for vinyl!!!

sweet & silly boys

We went to Lubbock this past weekend, but didn't bring our camera so we have no pics of the boys playing with their cousins or any Tech homecoming festivities. David & I held hands & walked across campus - wow, have things changed! We also attended the football game while Drew & Ben hung out with their grandparents & cousin, Davis. It was a fun time for all.

Here's just some random pics from this last week:

Drew hiding in one of his toy bins. My parents were here for one night earlier this week & my parents watched the boys while I ran an errand. Apparently Drew had to have all his "friends" & train with him. It's amazing to watch him grow up. The other day he was looking at me with those melt-your-heart-crystal-blue eyes and I asked him, "Are you going to be a heartbreaker one day?" He replied, "No. I be man." I like to think he meant gentleman.

Benjamin sporting his wool longies (thanks, Tori!). Longies are a combo of pant & diaper cover. I'm still learning about the world of cloth diapers. It can be quite addicting & overwhelming. Benjamin is still our little sweetheart, but is also starting to throw little tantrums. He'll arch his back & give some shrieks if he doesn't want to take a nap or has to get his diaper changed. He loves to be outside & play with whatever Drew has.

my little punkins

We went to a pumpkin patch on Saturday & picked out a total of six pumpkins for only $10! It was a great little activity (minus the bugs & stickers). Last year, Drew couldn't get enough of the little pumpkins, but this year he couldn't wait to check out the big ones. Benjamin was happy as usual just to hang out in the sling. Everyone except Benjamin got stuck a few times from the stickers & Drew's ear swelled up from some bug bite (picture Will Smith in Hitch).

benjamin

Benjamin has really improved his walking skills. He mostly still pulls up on furniture or the wall to stand up, but can toddle all over the house. I've been having some difficulty with our videos, but my wonderful hubbie straightened it all out for me last night so here's a snippet of Ben toddling in our living room.
