kings river falls... finally

Note: I've been having some trouble posting this week & thought it was because of the video. That's why I deleted it. I'll try & re-post that soon.


We took Benjamin on his first hike this weekend to Kings River Falls with Carrie & her nephew Parker (or Big Parker as Drew calls him). This was Drew's first hike that he walked most of the time (there were sections that were too difficult for him & sometimes he was just a little too cranky). The boys had a blast with all the water, rocks, & sticks. Benjamin ate some dirt & leaves, played a little bit in the water, & snoozed on the hike back out.

Benjamin turned 8 months old on Monday. He's gotten two teeth in & is starting to rock on his hands & knees. Crawling should be just around the corner. He is as sweet as ever. And check out those arms! Someone called them "rubber band arms" the other day!

My adventurous one. Drew loves to run down the slope of the Kelleys' front yard. When I picked him up the other day from playing with Parker, of course he had to run down the yard before getting in the car. This time he landed face first into the sidewalk. By the afternoon, he was running down a neighbor's drive way as fast as he could go. Nothing slows him down for too long. Oh, & he told me, "Bug off" today!!! It was really funny... you see, he has this bug light in his room & I was about to turn it off before his nap. He has become irritatingly independent lately & wanted to do it himself. I'm trying to learn patience even in the midst of running late!
