We recently upgraded to the Nikon D40 & it's amazing. We've been using the Nikon Coolpix, which is a great little camera, but I have really missed using an SLR. We have a 35 mm Canon Rebel that we never use anymore & thought about selling it on eBay, but 35mm cameras are only selling for like $15! It made me feel old for a minute. I remember going to the camera store to pick out paper to print my pictures on in my high school camera class. I guess now they are probably teaching all kinds of digital stuff instead. So anyway, we've been taking lots of random pics around the house just getting used to the camera & last night after I got Benjamin out of the bath I realized that we have a pic of Drew in the same blue towel sitting in the same yellow chair at what I thought was the same age. As it turns out Drew was 10 months old and about 20 lbs. while Benjamin is 5 months old and about 17 lbs. Needless to say, Benjamin has quite a few rolls & creases... more sweet goodness to love on.

he's moving on up

To a toddler bed, that is. As most of you know Drew has been climbing things almost as long as he has been walking. But, for some reason, he never climbed out of his crib... until last weekend. When Drew wakes up he usually needs a few minutes to shake off his grumpiness (a little like his mommy) so when he woke up from his nap, we gave him a few minutes as usual. This time, David heard a thump and when he opened the door, Drew was all-smiles playing with Mr. Potato Head on the carpet in his room. So all week, he's been climbing out of his crib when he wakes up and even had a scratch on the cheek to prove it. This weekend we took the side rails off his crib and transitioned him to a toddler bed. He's been doing pretty well. He has a bug-light on his wall that we set to a timer so he's not allowed to get up until it turns on. It's kinda funny because he still cries out for us to come get him when he wakes up. I've posted a couple more pics of his "big boy" room on Flickr since I never did get those out.
