snow day

I tried to get out with the boys to play in the snow today. We were short on snow gear as well as some helping hands. I did teach Drew how to throw a snowball and that clean, white snow is yummy.

first cereal

Benjamin has started eating rice cereal this week. I haven't been as excited about baby food this go 'round... just one more thing to do. Since boy #2 has come, our evenings are pretty full with dinner, baths, & bedtime. I never would have thought how these simple activities can fill up so much time. Back to the cereal... Benjamin seems to like it okay. He still thrusts a lot out of his mouth with his tongue. I can't remember though how much I should be feeding him. Once or twice a day? Any suggestions?

This is such a Benjamin face.

ol' fart

I guess my dad is officially an ol' fart now (just kidding Dad). After 33 years of service, he retired from ExxonMobil at a young 55 years old. We went down to my hometown of Deer Park to celebrate with him at his retirement party. I've never quite understood what my dad did at the refinery all those years, but I am so thankful for his hard work, loyalty, and the stability he brought to our family. I'm so proud of you, Dad!

new movie

In case you haven't heard there is a new documentary called The Business of Being Born releasing on Netflix February 12th. It's made by Netflix so I'm not sure if it will be in Blockbuster. There was a premier of it showing here in NWA last Friday. If you are pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant it might be of interest to you. We haven't been able to see it yet, but from what I hear it is very interesting & we can't wait to check it out.

ben's got some skills

Benjamin has recently acquired a couple of new skills. He's rolled over from his belly to his back & started tripoding. He is such a sweet little baby with lots of creases & chub to cuddle. The short video isn't very exciting, but I thought the grandparents would appreciate seeing little Benjamin in action.

drew bear's pawty

We had lots of friends & family over on Saturday to celebrate Drew turning 2. The kids played in a bear cave, decorated fuzzy bears, went on a bear hunt, and enjoyed some yummy cake. We have a small house that was full of adults & children, but I think everyone had a great time. It was kind of a blur to me. I don't think hostessing is one of my gifts. It's all over now & hopefully we can get back to a "normal" life again... whatever that means for me these days.

happy 2nd birthday drew bear

Drew turned 2 years old this morning at 9:29 am. We practiced singing "Happy Birthday" to him after dinner & he thought it was pretty funny. We'll be celebrating with family & friends this weekend at a bear party.

And to top it all off, Drew went poo poo in the potty for the first time! It was pretty exciting. He has also recently taught himself how to do a flip. Last Monday night he was giving us his last hoorah before bed running around his room all crazy and just tucked his chin & rolled. He has been doing it ever since on carpet, tile, furniture, you name it.

One last note, I've decided Drew's New Year's resolution should be to avoid any & all emergency rooms. Keep your fingers crossed, but don't hold your breath!

happy new year

I don't have any more Christmas pics to post as I failed to take any pics... again. I've gotten very lazy at taking pictures. I want them to put in a scrapbook, but don't want to actually have to take the picture. So here's the traditional pic with Santa at the mall. It was a little frustrating as the one 5x7 cost $15 & we were told we could have used our own camera at no charge! That's why I feel free to post this one. Reminiscent of last year, Drew just sat there like a bump on a log (at least he wasn't kicking & screaming) and Benjamin was content as usual. No smiles, but overall it turned out good.

I'm enjoying a little time at home this morning as the boys are off watching bowl games... a good way to start off 2008. My New Year's resolution for 2008 is to not get pregnant. I think 3 years in a row of being pregnant was plenty. Any New Year resolutions for you?
