looking for help

I'm just so very tired of my boring, standard blog background, but too afraid to change it. The last time I tried, I messed it all up & had to start over. So, anyone out there willing to walk me step by step into the world of cool web/blog design? As you probably know, we have our own domain (I think that's what it's called) so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Please help!!!
