living in the present
I've actually been reading a book lately (something I rarely do now that I'm a mommy). It's What Every Mom Needs & was given to me on Mother's Day at church. It's been pretty good. I just came across this poem that really strikes a cord with me:
First I was dying to finish high school
and start college.
And then I was dying to finish
college and start working.
And then I was dying to marry and have children.
And then I was dying for my children
to grow old enough for school
so I could return to work.
And then I was dying to retire.
And now, I am
dying...
And suddenly I realize I forgot to live.

I find myself often "waiting for life to get better." I need to play more with my boys & just enjoy them where they are at NOW!

I cried when I read the poem. I guess because my life is towards the end, and I feel like I have missed so much.
You're a wonderful daughter-in-law.
