fall fun

Last weekend we attended the Grabow Family Reunion at Camp Egan. We went on a short, but exhaustingly steep hike; enjoyed time with family; and played our annual "Christmas" bingo games.

On Saturday, David helped Drew carve his first jack-o-lantern. Drew stuck his hand in once to grab out the gook, but didn't like the "mess." He's really into that word lately. He would use a spoon though to help clean out the "punkin." Don't you just love the way kids say pumpkin?

pumpkin patch

My mom helped me take the boys to a pumpkin patch this morning. Drew loved it. Ben did not. Drew was busy moving little pumpkins around from one patch to another. When I tried getting a good pic of them together, Drew only lasted about 30 seconds before he shoved Benjamin aside, hit him in the face, and screamed, "No!" at him. Poor little guy. Then the chilly, fall wind was too cold for him. So my mom & Ben enjoyed the pumpkins from the car while I chased Drew around trying to capture that perfect pumpkin patch pic. Here's the best of what I got.

one month

Benjamin celebrated his one month birthday on Friday. It has been a fast month. He is still sleeping & eating a lot and that's about it. We are all adjusting fairly well as a new family of four. There are definitely moments of, "What have I gotten myself into?!?!" (speaking for myself). But, overall, we are doing well. Drew is pretty good with Ben. He occasionally tries to pick him up or feed him a snack. He has also hit him a few times in anger towards me. But, one of the first things Drew asks for when he wakes up in the morning or after his nap is, "Jah-min?" Drew also gives Ben way more kisses than me or David.

Here are my attempts at tracking Benjamin's growth for his baby album. It is going to definitely take more effort to take these monthly pictures, but I'm determined to keep it up!

apple fesitval

Thanks to a recommendation from the Millers, we attended the Lincoln Apple Festival on Saturday. We tasted apple dumplings for the first time and the boys saw their first parade (technically Benjamin slept through the whole thing).
