thanksgiving in lubbock, texas

We went to Lubbock to celebrate Thanksgiving with David's family. On the way we made a quick stop-over in Mangum, OK to visit his grandma & family. Our time was full of food & games. Nonny & Papa were so generous & gave David & me a night-off as parents. We got to sleep all night & all the way until 9:00 am!!! Drew took his first steps on the Sunday of his dedication & has been working on it since. He loved showing off his new skills to his grandparents, aunts, & cousins. I'll post a video soon.

the knutsons visit

My brother, sister-in-law, & nephew came up for a visit from Houston this past weekend. I had been waiting to tour the famous Wal-Mart museum until my sister-in-law, Christine, came to see us. She's a big fan of "Wally-World" so we checked out the old 5 & 10 store on Saturday. Wal-Mart is such a monsterous corporation these days so it was neat to see its humble beginnings as a "mom & pop" family business. Sunday we ate at AQ Chicken & took a quick driving tour of Fayetteville. It was a relaxing visit. I guess 4th time's a charm! (This was their 4th attempt at coming to see us. Other attempts were foiled by sickness or other bad luck.)

halloween

Drew was Superman for Halloween. He wasn't feeling well - was diagnosed with his first ear infection. But, after lots of rest & some medicine he was feeling up to a little trick or treating.


His friend Austin the lion came over to play before we left for our community group's fall festival.

David dressed up as a "Cereal Killer" for work. I was busy being Drew's nurse all day & didn't get to dress up. Maybe next year!
