teeth

Drew's first tooth popped up last Thursday night. His second one quickly followed Friday night. They are right next to each other on the bottom front of his mouth (see pic).

Drew also reached another milestone this weekend. He has begun doing the "army crawl." He doesn't get very far yet, but can wriggle to a desired toy or whatever he has his sights set on.

lost valley

My brother & his family's fourth attempt at visiting us was foiled again (hope you are feeling better Cole). I had planned this hike for them, but we decided to go anyway (missed you guys). The highlights were lots of shade, a cool cave at the end perfect to eat lunch in, Drew enjoying the hike up & sleeping on the way down, and just a plain ole good time with family & friends. Hopefully, my brother will be able to come up soon. A fall hike would be nice.

7 months

Drew turned 7 months old yesterday. Time really does fly by. I can see my baby starting to show little hints of a little boy. Today he turned from his back onto his tummy several times. Since he's never liked laying on his tummy, he's been going from his tummy to his back for quite a while. I think he's figuring out he can maneuver himself on his tummy. He is also really reaching & stretching out for things & people. I may have a little crawler on my hands soon.

On a side note, after one "real" blog, I think I'm calling it quits. This site was designed to communicate Drew's updates to friends & family that don't get to see him very often. Maybe, just maybe, I'll get my own blog.

my first real blog

I seem to go in picture spurts. I may go weeks without taking any pictures of Drew & then I will take tons. When I have a lot to choose from I can't ever decide which ones to share. I know I could put all of them on one of those picture sharing websites, but I don't want to bother you with all that. It's part of my silly fear of being in the way or taking up too much of other people's time. My insecurity & feelings of insignificance. Wow. That was quite "bloggery" of me. Posting some vulnerability out there for all to read & judge. I'm feeling a little bold so I'm going to actually publish this. Maybe it's the sleep deprivation setting in. Drew has decided to stop sleeping through the night & has returned to his newborn ways of waking every couple of hours. Well, here's some more pics of my sweet, baby boy. Enjoy.

Dashing Drew in his shirt & tie. He wore this outfit to his Aunt Val's wedding in Massachusetts.

When I was changing him out of his shirt & tie, I just couldn't help but take some shots of him in his diaper. Those rosey cheeks and big blue eyes. I think I'm in love.

We enjoyed some watermelon together this evening. I put some in his little mesh teether bag for him to suck on, but he just couldn't resist those rinds.
